Member News: Elgin secures 382MW of solar capacity in UK AR7 auction

Solar Ireland member Elgin has secured eight solar contracts in the UK’s Allocation Round 7 (AR7) Contracts for Difference (CfD) auction, with a combined capacity of 382MW.

The projects are located across England and Scotland and form part of Elgin’s wider portfolio spanning the UK, Ireland, Germany and Italy. The successful bids reflect the strength and maturity of the company’s development pipeline in a highly competitive auction round.

Once operational, the projects are expected to contribute to the UK’s Clean Power 2030 targets, supporting decarbonisation, energy security and long-term electricity supply.

Following the award of CfD contracts, Elgin will now progress the projects towards construction and delivery, marking a key step in moving capacity from development into operation.
